HIAB HIRE GUIDES

Hiab hire and crane-assisted transport services

Hiab hire brings road transport and crane lifting together. From collecting a storage container to delivering workshop equipment, the service you need depends on the load and where it needs placing. Use these examples to find the right type of operator.

Container, cabin and welfare unit transport

Arrange delivery, collection or relocation of storage containers, portable offices and welfare cabins. Provide the unit dimensions and weight, including contents. For a replacement or exchange, describe both the incoming and outgoing units so the quotation covers the complete job.

Machinery and workshop equipment

Hiab transport can suit machine tools, compressors and other equipment that needs crane assistance between premises. Include attachments, cabinets and loose accessories in your load list. Explain whether the equipment is ready outside or needs separate preparation and movement within the building.

Generators and temporary power equipment

Ask about generator delivery, collection after a hire period or replacement of a unit already on site. Give the model, transport weight and dimensions, and identify any accompanying tanks or equipment. Confirm separately who handles electrical disconnection and reconnection.

Steel delivery and lifting

For beams, columns and fabricated sections, send individual lengths and weights. Explain whether you need unloading into storage or lifting to an agreed position for another team. Steel erection is a separate requirement to discuss; do not assume it is included in a transport quotation.

Building materials and site deliveries

A suitable crane lorry can carry and unload timber packs, palletised materials and prefabricated components. Provide pack quantities and weights, together with the required unloading position. If materials need delivering in stages, explain the sequence when requesting a quote.

Boat transport

Choose an operator with experience of your type of vessel. Share its length, beam, transport height and weight, along with cradle details. Collection from a yard, road transport and launching into water are different tasks, so specify exactly which parts you need.

Pumps and building-services equipment

Packaged pumps, air-conditioning units and other plant may require delivery and a lift to the receiving position. Send the unit specification and placement height. A rooftop or long-reach lift needs a specific equipment assessment before the operator can confirm the work.

Bulky domestic loads

For hot tubs, garden structures or other awkward items, provide the transport dimensions, weight and photographs of both positions. Ask whether a Hiab is suitable for the particular movement before arranging purchase or delivery.

Contact a suitable operator

Browse the HiabHub area pages and review the services each business lists. Send both addresses, load details and your preferred date. Operators confirm their own coverage, equipment, availability and prices, and you arrange the booking directly with the business.
